The Catch

A gateway public artwork for Barking town centre

Night lighting of the catch - public artwork sculpture

Where are you going, and what do you wish?
The old moon asked the three.
We have come to fish for the herring fish
That live in this beautiful sea;
Nets of silver and gold have we.'

Wynken, Blynken, and Nod by Eugene Field

The Catch lighting
In 2006 computerised lighting was added to the artwork. Uplighters are activated as daylight fades to create subtle transitions in green, blue and white, giving a watery feel to the twin ‘wave’ structures.
